Overall, Madame Tussauds is definitely worth visiting at least once. The location on Bluewaters Island is excellent, and the wax figures are very well made ,they genuinely look realistic, and at times it feels like they are alive, smiling or looking at you.
However, I didn’t feel that all figures were relevant as “icons,” especially Huda, Mona Kattan, and Chris Fade, as they don’t really feel like global idols.
At the entrance, they also show examples of hand wax molds, which is a nice idea, especially for couples and families who want to create a keepsake together. They ask if interested, and told it costs around 60 AED. However, they don’t clearly explain the full details ,such as limitations in colors, or that the mold is basically hollow unless you pay extra to fill it. If you want it properly filled, you need to buy additional sand packages, each costing around 45 AED, and even the final box is charged separately.
The molding process itself was not very professional. For example, my fingers were slightly misaligned in the mold, and after we brought it home, the end of the mold even cracked. I had to fill it with two sand packs just to prevent further damage.
In my opinion, if it had turned out like the example shown at the counter, it would have been worth it. But the final result was disappointing, and what started as 60 AED ended up costing nearly 200 AED. The money itself is not a big issue, but the experience felt misleading and not well explained.
